Background
The National Infusion Center Association (NICA) had an established website that served its purpose, but it had not been meaningfully updated in several years. As the organization prepared for a large-scale marketing initiative, it became clear that the website needed to better reflect NICA’s mission, advocacy efforts, and growing role within the healthcare industry.
We were brought into the project through our partners at Pine Philly, who were leading the broader marketing campaign. While Pine facilitated the majority of strategic and onboarding conversations, our role focused squarely on designing, building, and launching a new website on the client’s preferred hosting platform.
Objectives
The primary goal of the new infusioncenter.org website was to support and amplify NICA’s advocacy mission. Key objectives included:
- Raising awareness of NICA’s initiatives and policy efforts
- Clearly communicating complex advocacy issues in an approachable, responsible manner
- Providing educational resources to stakeholders
- Attracting new Corporate, Industry, and Strategic partners
- Supporting a large, coordinated marketing campaign
- Ensuring a reliable, mobile-first experience across all devices
Challenges
This project involved a high degree of coordination and nuance. There were many knowledgeable and passionate voices on the client side contributing valuable input, alongside Pine Philly’s strategic oversight. At the same time, the subject matter itself was complex and sensitive, requiring careful presentation to ensure clarity without oversimplification.
Additional challenges included navigating layered approval processes between the client, Pine Philly, and our team, while still maintaining forward momentum and meeting campaign timelines.
Discovery & Planning
We worked closely with Pine Philly and the NICA team to rethink how information was organized and presented. This included developing a new sitemap and content structure that better reflected NICA’s priorities, audiences, and advocacy goals, while remaining intuitive for first-time visitors.

Design Phase
While design direction was shaped collaboratively with Pine Philly and the client, the focus was on clarity, credibility, and accessibility. The site needed to feel authoritative and trustworthy while remaining approachable and easy to navigate, particularly given the educational and advocacy-driven nature of the content.
Development
The website was built on WordPress using Advanced Custom Fields and the BeBuilder drag-and-drop framework, providing flexibility without sacrificing structure. Custom templates and content components allowed the site to scale as NICA’s initiatives and resources continue to grow. Hosting was handled on WP Engine, in line with the client’s infrastructure preferences.

Testing & Quality Assurance
Responsiveness and reliability were top priorities. The site was thoroughly tested across a wide range of devices and browsers to ensure consistent behavior, clean layouts, and dependable performance for all users.
Launch
The launch was a coordinated, late-night effort with Pine Philly, during which the site was pushed live, tested in real time, and validated across environments. The moment marked the culmination of a highly collaborative process — and was capped off with a well-earned celebration.

Results
Conclusion
The redesigned infusioncenter.org website successfully supported NICA’s advocacy efforts and served as a strong foundation for Pine Philly’s larger marketing campaign. Both Pine Philly and the NICA team were extremely pleased with the final result, citing the site’s clarity, polish, and effectiveness in communicating a complex mission.
The project stands as a strong example of cross-team collaboration, thoughtful information design, and execution under real-world constraints — delivering a site that not only looks professional, but meaningfully supports the organization’s goals.
