Background
The Kimara Ahnert Makeup and Skincare Studio has been a Madison Avenue destination in New York City since 1997, offering one-on-one makeup, skincare and bridal services and its own line of cosmetics.
The studio needed a new site that matched its elegance and an online store that made its products easy to buy.
Objectives
Goals for kimara.com:
- Bring the studio's elegant brand online
- Sell the cosmetics line with an easy, reliable checkout
- Present studio and bridal services beautifully
- Encourage repeat purchases with accounts, saved items and email
- Move the site onto managed hosting
Challenges
Cosmetics are hard to shop online: customers need to see shades clearly and pick the right one. The store had to make choosing a shade simple on any device.
Launch also meant taking over from the studio's previous web provider and moving the domain and hosting.
Discovery & Planning
We organized the site around the two sides of the business, the studio and the shop, and timed the launch for Memorial Day weekend with a promotion for new accounts.

Design Phase
Soft tones, refined typography and the studio's signature tree logo give the site the feel of a Madison Avenue boutique, with seasonal collections featured on the home page.
Online Store
A WooCommerce store with shade-by-shade product options, Stripe checkout, Save for Later, social login and coupons makes buying favorites easy, while automated emails bring customers back.

Studio & Bridal
Studio pages present makeup, skincare and bridal services, with a dedicated weddings section for brides planning their day.
Launch & Support
The new site launched for Memorial Day weekend alongside a promotion. We host and maintain it, from content updates to keeping checkout fast and secure.
