Background
IRCO Community Federal Credit Union is a member-owned credit union in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, offering great rates, easy online banking and member-first financial services, and it's active in the local community.
Its website had grown to around 100 pages and needed a modern, accessible rebuild that members could navigate easily.
Objectives
Goals for ircocu.org:
- Modernize the design and organize a large site into clear sections
- Meet accessibility and privacy expectations for a financial institution
- Let people apply for membership and jobs online
- Keep online banking sign-in front and center
- Make it easy for staff to post updates and alerts
Challenges
A site with about 100 pages is hard to rebuild well and on budget. We used IRCO's analytics to see what members actually used, then consolidated pages so the new site was smaller, clearer and more affordable to build.
Online banking and mortgage services run on third-party platforms, so the new site had to connect to them cleanly.
Discovery & Planning
Starting from the analytics, we rebuilt the site map around personal and business banking, loans, rates and resources, with the most-used pages easiest to reach.
Design Phase
IRCO's maroon brand color anchors a clean, friendly design. The home page puts online banking, rates and quick actions up front, and highlights community stories like the Educators Wall of Fame.
Product Pages
Product pages like Checking follow one consistent template, so members can compare accounts easily and staff can add new products without starting from scratch.
Online Applications
Membership and employment applications now happen online and route straight to the right staff. A live site search, a careers section and staff-editable alert banners round out the build.
Launch & Support
Design kicked off in June 2025 and the new site launched in January 2026, with online banking connected and staff trained to manage content. We host and support the site, from page requests to security updates.
